Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

1) Aims & Scope

erscience publishes peer-reviewed papers originating from conferences, seminars, symposia, and similar events. Disciplines include (but are not limited to) Data Science, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Health & Medicine, Social Sciences, Economics, Business, Humanities, Materials, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, and Agriculture. Event-specific scopes may apply to each issue page.

2) Submission Types & Length

  • Full paper (default): 6–12 pages (including references).

  • Short paper (if allowed by the event): 4–6 pages.

  • Review/Invited/Keynote paper (if applicable): length set by the event.
    Exact limits are specified in the Call for Papers for each event.

3) Templates & Format

  • Use the ERScience proceedings template in DOCX (preferred).

    • Paper size: A4; margins and styles per template.

    • Fonts and heading levels must follow the template.

  • File type for submission: PDF (exported from DOCX/LaTeX).

  • Camera-ready: DOCX or LaTeX source + PDF (final).

4) Language & Style

  • Language: English or Indonesian, as stated by the event. Use a consistent, clear, and formal academic style.

  • Spelling: follow a single standard (e.g., US English).

  • Abbreviations: define on first use.

  • Units: SI units.

5) Structure (typical)

Title; Authors & Affiliations; Abstract (150–250 words); Keywords (3–6); Introduction; Related Work; Methods/Materials; Results; Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgments; Data/Code Availability (if any); References; Appendices (optional).

6) Citations & References

  • Default style: IEEE (numbered). Example in-text: “…as shown in [3]”.

  • Reference examples:

    • Journal: A. Author, “Article title,” Journal Name, vol. 10, no. 2, pp. 100–110, 2023.

    • Conference: B. Author and C. Author, “Paper title,” in Proc. Conf. Name, 2024, pp. 1–6.

    • Book: D. Author, Book Title, 2nd ed. City: Publisher, 2021.
      Use DOIs where available.

7) Figures, Tables, and Equations

  • Figures: PNG/JPG (≥300 dpi) or vector PDF/SVG. Ensure readable text/labels.

  • Tables: editable text (not images).

  • Equations: use an equation editor; number consecutively (e.g., (1), (2)).

  • Provide captions for Figures (below) and Tables (above).

8) Ethical Standards & Integrity

  • erscience applies rigorous peer review and publication ethics.

  • Originality: submissions must be original, not under review elsewhere.

  • Similarity check: authors must ensure proper citation and paraphrasing; excessive overlap may lead to rejection.

  • Conflicts of interest: disclose all financial or personal relationships.

  • Human/Animal studies: state IRB/ethics approval and informed consent where applicable.

  • Data, materials, and code: cite and, where possible, make available or state access conditions.

9) Peer Review

  • The review model is defined by each event (single-masked by default; double-masked if stated).

  • Decisions: Accept / Minor revision / Major revision / Reject.

  • Authors must address reviewers’ comments point by point in their revisions.

10) Submission & Workflow

  1. Submit the PDF via the event’s submission link (on the issue page).

  2. If accepted, upload camera-ready source files (DOCX/LaTeX + figures) and complete all metadata.

  3. Sign the copyright/license form (see §12).

  4. Ensure names, affiliations, ORCIDs, acknowledgments, and funding info are correct.

11) Metadata (must be complete)

  • Title, Abstract, Keywords;

  • Author names (full), affiliations (department, institution, country);

  • Corresponding author email;

  • ORCID iD (recommended);

  • Funding and grant numbers (if any).

12) Copyright & License

  • Copyright remains with the authors.

  • Default license: CC BY 4.0 (unless the event specifies another license).

  • The authors grant Ersco the right to publish and archive the work.

13) Fees (APC) and Services

  • Article processing charges (if any) are set per event by the organizer and depend on the number of papers and services required (e.g., DOI registration, copyediting, layout). See the event page for details.

14) Camera-Ready Checklist

  • Used the official template; page limits satisfied.

  • All figures/tables legible; permissions obtained where needed.

  • Equations, references, and cross-references compile correctly.

  • Author names/affiliations/ORCIDs accurate; corresponding email provided.

  • Acknowledgments, funding, and conflict-of-interest statements included.

  • References are complete and consistently formatted (with DOIs if available).

  • Final PDF + source files uploaded; license form completed.
